Chinese Slippers

The Chinese Slippers are known by lots of different names for example Yip Man slippers, Kung Fu slippers, Tai Chi slippers, Bruce Lee Slippers or simply Chinese Slippers. These slippers are also known to have a connection with martial arts. The Chinese slippers can be worn by absolutely anyone from the poorest working class up to the richest of the rich. They can be worn in tai chi or kung fu classes and are so versatile that they can be worn as outdoor or indoor slippers as well as bathroom or bedroom slippers. They are incredibly light and comfortable, very easy to slip on and off and also very affordable.
The Chinese Slippers are connected to the martial arts as very famous actors throughout the years have worn them in movies such as Kwan Tak Hing, Samo Hung, Jacky Chan and Bruce Lee. They were seen as economical as they were so low cost as soon as they got dirty or worn on set it was very easy just to swap them over with a new pair.
Tai Chi practitioners say that they need these slippers to perform their art weightlessly without having to wear the cotton-sole slippers. The other bad point about cotton-sole slippers is that they are very dangerous on slippery floors, polished wooden floors and climbing up and down stairs.
Kung Fu slippers were at the height of fashion during the seventies and would have either plastic, rubber or cotton soles. During film premiers avid fans would also line the streets wearing their Chinese Slippers as well as other associated items of clothing used in kung fu.
Wing Chun practitioners would refer to the V-neck slippers as the Yip Man slippers. These slippers were seen in many Chinese films even before we had heard of the Yip Man. This also included Chinese films that were not based on martial arts.
The ladies tend to prefer a nicer design with maybe a buckle or a strap so as to differentiate between the male and female style.
You should consider buying a pair of Chinese slippers if you really want a really good pair of slippers. After a very hard day at work there is nothing I like more than slipping into my slippers to unwind after a stress full day in the office. They really do wrap your feet in pure luxury and they are of the finest silk fabric and beautiful detailing. They cradle your feet, fitting so snugly and comfortably to promote pure relaxation. You can really pamper your feet by purchasing a pair of Chinese Slippers. In England they are absolutely the best slippers to buy as they have a very warm lining. The backless style is wonderful as you can throw off your shoes when you get home from work and just easily and simply slip them on your feet. I keep one pair by my front door for as soon as I return from the office I can pull off my high heels and slip into comfort. My other pair I keep by the bed so that on a freezing cold morning I can jump out of bed and pull on my dressing gown and slippers to keep really warm before my morning coffee.
I love my Chinese Slippers and they are so hard to choose which ones to buy as they come in so many designs and beautiful colours. You can buy them in cream, gold, blue, pink, orange, lilac, purple, green, silver, black and white. My house slippers are actually sewn with hundreds of tiny coloured beads and really sparkle which makes them very easy to find when the children disappear around the house with them. I buy mine online and they always have a fast delivery and as my feet are very tiny, rather like the slippers I always to manage to find the size three and four are always available.
These are also a fantastic idea to buy for someone as a Christmas present or a birthday present as long as you already know their shoe size of course. I bought a pair for my younger sister and she absolutely adores them. These are pure heaven to slip your feet into after a really hard day and especially if you are wearing high heels that really hurt your feet. The Chinese slippers are great for both men and women. The only downside I would say is to be careful with the open backed aspect as when you are walking up and down the stairs you can easily get the back caught in the runners of the carpet which can be very dangerous. I must admit I do even get some funny looks as I forget that I am wearing them sometimes and end up in the supermarket looking down at my feet at the checkout before I realise!
